Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions.

Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

Role Summary

Would you like to help shape the future of electrified solutions for marine and industrial applications? As a Senior Regulatory Engineer – eMobility, you will play a key role in ensuring that our electrified products meet global regulatory requirements, standards, and certification requirements. You will work closely with development teams, authorities, classification societies, and other external stakeholders to create safe and compliant products. The role combines technical understanding, regulatory expertise, analysis, and collaboration across functions and organisations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Investigate and monitor regulatory requirements, technical standards, marine type approval requirements, and export control regulations for e-mobility solutions globally.
  • Work closely with development teams to define requirements, support product verification, and ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate certification activities and maintain dialogue with authorities, notified bodies, classification societies, and test institutes.
  • Conduct gap analyses, initiate and follow up engineering investigations, testing, certification activities, and mitigation plans.
  • Support strategy development by translating regulatory requirements into a regulatory roadmap and identifying capability gaps for current and future products.

Who You Are

  • We believe you have extensive experience working in a regulatory, certification, compliance, or engineering environment, ideally within the automotive, marine, industrial, or related sectors.
  • You have substantial experience interacting with external authorities and certification bodies and understand the legal and compliance implications associated with regulated products.
  • You have strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and understand the importance, sensitivity, and urgency of compliance-related activities.
  • You have demonstrated leadership capabilities and are comfortable driving initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, and leading activities across functions, even without formal people management responsibility.
  • Additionally, you have several years of experience working closely with engineering organisations and product development activities throughout the product lifecycle.
