Senior Software Architect – Gothenburg

We are looking to extend our team with an experienced Senior Software Architect for an assignment within the automotive industry here in Gothenburg.

Work Description:

As a Senior Software Architect, you will play a key role in defining and developing end-to-end IT solutions supporting embedded software development processes and systems. You will ensure that technical solutions align with enterprise architecture strategies, business requirements, and existing IT environments.

The role combines solution architecture, cloud transformation, and hands-on software development, working closely with cross-functional teams across software engineering, technology, production, and aftermarket operations.



Architecture Lead – Strategy & Solution Design

Solution Architecture: Define and develop end-to-end technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture principles and business requirements.
Architecture Transformation: Drive the transition from application-centric solutions towards modern microservices and cloud-based architectures.
Technical Strategy: Evaluate existing systems, identify architectural improvements, and support long-term technology roadmaps.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with solution architects, development teams, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders.
Process Development: Support the definition, documentation, and implementation of software development processes and architectural standards.



Technical & Software Development

Cloud & Microservices: Design scalable, maintainable solutions using modern cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
Software Development: Contribute hands-on to software development, coding, and technical implementation.
DevSecOps & Agile: Support modern development practices, automation, CI/CD, and secure software delivery.
Embedded Software Systems: Develop solutions supporting embedded software processes, tools, and engineering environments.
Cybersecurity: Ensure security considerations are integrated into architecture and software development.



Solution Implementation & Collaboration

Technical Guidance: Support development teams in implementing architectural solutions and resolving complex technical challenges.
Solution Integration: Ensure effective integration between systems, applications, and engineering processes.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve software architecture, development efficiency, and system performance.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate across technology, production, aftermarket, and IT delivery organizations.



Required Qualifications & Experience

Extensive experience as a Software Architect, IT Solution Architect, or Senior Software Developer.
Strong background in software architecture, system integration, and end-to-end solution design.
Experience with microservices architecture, cloud solutions, and modern software development environments.
Hands-on programming and software development experience.
Good understanding of embedded software development processes and systems.
Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and cybersecurity principles.
Experience in process definition, documentation, and implementation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple technical teams.
Fluent English, written and spoken.



Meritorious Qualifications:

Experience from the automotive industry, preferably within embedded software engineering environments.
Experience driving cloud transformation and modernization of enterprise applications.
Experience working in large, cross-functional engineering organizations.
