Senior Android Engineer Kotlin

On behalf of a partner company, Nordic Investin is looking for a Senior Android Engineer Kotlin. You want to build an Android product that feels fast, dependable and native because the engineering underneath is disciplined.

The partner is developing an Android application that supports important everyday user journeys. You will lead technical choices in Kotlin, improve architecture and delivery quality, and help the team turn complex service interactions into a calm mobile experience.

The environment will suit someone who enjoys building systems, testing assumptions in code and taking responsibility for production behaviour. Technical choices are expected to be explained in terms of maintainability, reliability and the people who use the product.

You will work in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain and operational colleagues. The partner expects engineers to review designs, test assumptions early and follow important changes into production. Decisions should be recorded clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later.

As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. The role still includes hands on delivery; seniority here means broader judgement, not distance from the work.

• Develop native Android features with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

• Evolve modular architecture, dependency management and state handling.

• Integrate secure APIs, authentication and offline behaviour.

• Improve startup time, responsiveness and crash free usage.

• Build automated tests and reliable release pipelines.

• Coach peers through reviews and practical mobile engineering standards.

• Several years of native Android development in production.

• Advanced Kotlin and Android SDK knowledge.

• Experience with Compose, coroutines and modern architecture patterns.

• Strong understanding of networking, storage and application security.

• Testing experience across unit, integration and UI layers.

• Professional English; Swedish may be required by specific partners.

• Kotlin Multiplatform.

• Apps with high security or accessibility requirements.

• Mobile observability and experimentation platforms.

Your background may be in consumer apps, banking, mobility, commerce or public services. You have lived with the consequences of mobile releases and understand that maintainability, telemetry and graceful failure are part of the user experience.

The partner needs a senior engineer who can shape the Android foundation and still enjoy shipping features. You will have clear ownership, a modern stack and the chance to make technical quality visible in the product.
