Business Leader - Lab Systems

Role Summary:
The Lab ÄKTA - Business Leader is responsible for the Product Management team for our Lab ÄKTA platform. The platform of ÄKTA brand chromatography systems is well renown for scalable protein and vaccine purification from lab to manufacturing and is of vital importance for GEHC Life Sciences.

Essential Responsibilities:
The goal for the ÄKTA lab products Business Leader is to set the strategic direction, lead new products development roadmap needed to drive the business, and manage the existing products in a manner that maximizes the overall return/profit to the company while maximizing customer value.The ÄKTA lab products leader should have previous experience of people management and have an ability to lead and inspire teams and individuals. Experience from the lab market is an advantage. The function has the accountability to manage ÄKTA lab business area. Managing this area includes having a deep knowledge of the target market, its size, trends and needs. Key responsibilities include:
Lead a team of Product Managers and one Product Strategy Manager.
Create a portfolio strategy plan, including new product development, current portfolio evolution and the lifecycle management strategy; maximizing the company profit over the product segment(s) entire life cycle.
Collaborate closely with the commercial teams in developing the tactical marketing plan for maximal output
Collaborate closely with R&D and GSC to secure a sustainable product platform
Strategic and tactical supply management of existing products to market for multiple customers and applications
Management of the cross-functional interface with product development and manufacturing

Qualifications/Requirements:
University level science or business degree; knowledge of the products handled by the group is of value
Strong leadership skills – structured and driving and with a positive and inspiring attitude
Team working ability is central to success
Sales or marketing experience is preferred
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proven ability to absorb and handle complex information in a very structured way
Fluent in written and oral English
