Communications Manager, Life Sciences

Role Summary:

Essential Responsibilities:
GE Healthcare Life Sciences helps researchers and the pharmaceutical industry accelerate how precision diagnostics and therapies are invented, made and used. Our products enable biological analysis, research, development and the manufacture of advanced therapies and vaccines. We also produce diagnostic pharmaceuticals used in medical imaging.

This role is responsible for supporting the development and deployment of GE Healthcare Life Sciences internal and external communications, driving strategic and commercial priorities and aligning to GE Healthcare’s global communications strategy. This role reports to and will closely partner with the Life Sciences Communications Director to develop and grow a team of multispecialty communications professionals across PR, internal comms and digital to effectively promote and protect the reputation of GE Healthcare Life Sciences.
Delivers internal and external communications priorities across GE Healthcare Life Sciences, often leading by example. Will also support GE Healthcare communications activity regionally, when required, for proactive or defensive communications counsel and execution.
Drives a strong internal and external communications workstream across the Life Sciences business, working closely with other communications colleagues and across marketing and marketing communications.
Drives particular communications projects and crisis and issues communication in Sweden for Life Sciences and GE Healthcare when necessary in the region.
Establishes and maintains collaborative and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including media, policy-makers and public affairs stakeholders.
Effectively integrates with marketing communications activity to support commercial marketing campaigns with effective communications tactics dependent on defined business outcomes.
Integrates PR and internal communications messaging from GE Healthcare into Life Sciences.
Leverages digital and social media channels to amplify storytelling and measure outcomes and effectiveness of targeting across internal and external audiences.
Develops and implements meaningful and actionable metrics and considered evaluation of communications activities that consistently demonstrates the effectiveness of communications campaigns to the wider business.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related field and significant communications experience across internal and external
Strong and proven communications credentials in large multi-stakeholder organization
Proven experience of delivering effective PR campaigns
Strong knowledge of news agenda, media and current affairs
Dynamic, results focused and able to juggle priorities whilst building and maintaining trust and respect both within and outside the business; consistently delivering high quality results
Excellent written and verbal communication, storytelling ability and presentation skills
Able to clearly communicate complex information in an easy to understand manner
Experience working across multiple layers of a complex organization including executive level, functions, products and regions
Proven crisis communications experience
Broad experience with using social media and digital channels to amplify storytelling and measure effectiveness of campaigns and stakeholder communications
Fluent Swedish and English language (oral and written)
