Qualifications:
University degree preferably in engineering and/or business
Good knowledge in English, both written and spoken
Experience of complex portfolios with purchasing of systems or engines/transmissions
Minimum 6 years of experience from Purchasing, Sales or Business development

Our purchasing department is a strategic and profit generating function within our company. Our vision is that Volvo Penta Purchasing should perform better than any competitor by purchasing the best value for our customers. Volvo Penta Purchasing has the responsibility to manage all external sourcing for the Volvo Penta business. Setting clear and challenging goals, and follow-up the execution of the strategies and activities to achieve the goals, are vital parts of our success. Due to a retirement we are looking for a candidate to drive and execute the strategies for external engine business and build strong partnerships.

Responsibilities:
Drive external engine development with Volvo Penta partner towards excellence
Facilitate executive management meetings with engine suppliers and set product plans to meet technology road map and customer demands
Drive development of global commodity strategies and ensure implementation
Manage the supplier relationships and performance (quality, delivery, feature, cost, technology, sustainability and risk management ) for the whole product life cycle (project, sourcing, operational) and co-operate with engineering to achieve best solution. Internal networking is a key to secure stakeholder requirements
Perform the activities required for the portfolio: e.g. negotiations, sourcing, re-sourcing, project implementation, optimize the total cost (Quality, logistics, engineering, manufacturing, etc.)
Deliver the defined KPI:s on time and in accordance with set targets
Work in accordance with the Volvo Penta processes, the Volvo Way, and the Volvo values and behaviours
