QUALIFICATIONS
Completed upper secondary Vehicle Education
As person to be positive, flexible and service minded
You find it stimulating to work in a team
Broad product knowledge
Technical competence and judgement ability
Driven in advanced troubleshooting
Installation and preparation of test equipment such as instruments for measuring temperature and pressure, accelerometer, tachometer
Download of software and fault tracing in Canalyzer, Tech tool
Ability to express/understand the Swedish and English language
Specialty knowledge is a merit
Proper mounting technique (i.e. glue, welding)
Efficiently organize a large number of testing points
Good experience or certified Hybrid Technician when measuring electric components

Prototype workshop are looking for a Prototype Mechanic
WORK DESCRIPTION
As a Prototype Mechanic at Global Product Development Volvo Bus you will work in a team of approximately twenty other mechanics working with builds,re-builds,troubleshooting and test support of prototype test vehicles. The work also include manufacturing of prototype parts and preparation of vehicles for testing and support the projects during tests.
Your work will be characterized by close cooperation with the other mechanics in the team.
As a team member we expect you to contribute to the development of the department, sharing experience and new ideas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Main responsibilities are:
Build and rebuild of prototype/test vehicles
Build or modify complete chassis
Prepare prototype/test vehicles for test
Advanced troubleshooting for complete bus
Manufacture prototype parts
Fully understand driveline, steering, brake and frame system
Build or modify complete electrical harness
Read and interpret drawings on paper or in DMU (Digital Mock-up)
Assembly/disassembly measuring points to the vehicles
AUTHORITIES
Authority to request access to necessary information to perform the work
Authority to adapt the work according to required safety and environment
Authority to stop work if it doesn’t comply with safety regulations
