Wood Supply Engineer

At least 5 years in Forestry and/or wood industry and related degree (Forestry or Wood Technology)
• Fluent in English both spoken and written
• Good understanding of forest management, timber trade and wood processing
• Proven and developed leadership skills
• Analytical, methodical, well-structured and able to make, present and argue his/her judgement
• Desire to find and implement sustainable solutions into the business
• Have theoretical and practical competence of existing wood processing technologies.
• Have a strong network in the manufacturing industry
• Good communicator/instructor
• Ability to calculate on total production costs
• Ability to build optimal production layouts
• Able to travel





In purchasing organisation within defined part of the business and legal framework of IKEA – leads and contributes with senior engineering competence in value-chain projects either as project resource or project manager.

About the assignment

• Secure world class wood processing competence in assigned value-chain projects
• Lead projects within the area of wood processing sawmill to components
• Lead the competence sharing and implementation of best practices between categories, Industries, regions to optimize process efficiency in total IKEA
• Analyse existing processing units and identify efficiency gaps.
• Motivate, propose and lead improvement projects.
• Calculate on processing capacities and costs
• Be contact person with the main technology manufacturers to drive development
