Optical current transformer Engineer

You are equally familiar with theoretical as well as practical tasks and are used to work from requirements and design specifications, as well as develop new ones. You have already obtained a wide knowledge within the optoelectronic area from a university education or relevant work experience.

The successful candidate has:
- A good attitude to work with mixed tasks, both practical lab work and theoretical investigations
- Experience from optical electronics and mechanical designs and manufacturing
- Background in high voltage substation equipment, optical systems or electronics
- Fluent in English and Swedish, written and spoken alike

Tasks can vary from handling customer requirements in a delivery to fault investigations of products and participation in development projects.
Our team’s goal is to maintain good reliability in our existing system and also support with specialist competence in development projects. This will involve laboratory testing for both qualifications and failure investigations.

Main focus areas for the team is:
- Design and maintain digital current transformers for HVDC and FACTS applications.
- Design and maintain optical components and fiber systems for HVDC and FACTS control systems. You will be part of HVDC within the Power Systems division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 50 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.
